As I said in my last Soap Challenge Club entry post, I made two attempts at the pour/pull through technique. For this attempt, I used a larger screen from the same storage basket and cut it to fit my log mold. Our guest instructor, Joanne (Nature’s Potion Handmade Soaps), and host, Amy Warden, also used screens, so I wanted to try this size, too. I love the designs this technique produces. However, I definitely should have poured my soap a bit differently, as you’ll see that the end bars look just plain weird. Kind of reminded me of teeth or something. RECIPE
Recipe given in percentages so you can use it for any size mold

Olive Oil – 38%
Coconut Oil – 25%
Shea Butter – 15%
Sunflower Oil (high oleic) – 6%
Castor Oil – 6%
Avocado Oil – 5%
Cocoa Butter – 5%

Superfat – 5%

Sodium Hydroxide – use a soap calculator like the one at Majestic Mountain Sage (https://bit.ly/234ixsG) to calculate the amount of sodium hydroxide required for your specific recipe.

Water = 2 x Sodium Hydroxide (33% lye solution)

Essential Oil Blend:
Lavender – 3 parts
Rosemary – 2 parts
Peppermint – 1 part

Activated Charcoal:
Mix 1 teaspoon with 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
Usage rate in video: 2 teaspoons charcoal oil per cup of soap

Indigo Root Powder:
Mix 1/4 teaspoon with 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
Usage rate in video: 1/2 teaspoon indigo oil per cup of soap

Pink Kaolin Clay:
Mix 3 teaspoons with distilled water (enough to make fluid)
Usage rate in video: 1 tablespoon hydrated clay per cup of soap
