Hi ! I discovered your channel on youtube and I love it ! I will do my first soaps this summer and I still have an interrogation. You do exactly what I would like to try (different colours, swirls, etc.), that’s why I come to you for help ! When you have a recipe, and you have an amount of superfat, and you would like to add some colours infused into olive oil, do you take in consideration this tiny amount of supp oil coloured ? It’s difficult to explain what I mean exactly (I’m from Switzerland and speak french :-) ). Or, do you have a recipe, with an amount of superfat, and you add the colours you want, without taking care of the supp amount of oil coloured you put in it ?
Basically, what I would like to know is, how do you develop a recipe which contains some coloured oils ?

Thank you, Sarah! And thanks for watching my videos. As far as my infused oil colorants, I have a basic rule that I follow. If I’m coloring a small amount of soap for a complicated swirl, I will simply add up to 2 teaspoons of my infused oil (plus additional herbs and spices if needed) and not worry about the superfat or subtracting from the recipe. My infused oils are very dark and intense, so that generally works for me. If I’m coloring a large amount of soap (like an entire batch with one color), I will subtract a percentage of the total oils and then add it back in the form of my infused oil.
