This is a video on one of my attempts at the Soap Challenge Club’s tall and skinny shimmy technique. All the links I mention are posted below the video on YouTube in case you need them. Thank you so much for watching! ❤️
For this month’s Soap Challenge Club, we revisited a technique from 2015 called the tall and skinny shimmy. Our guest instructor was Tatiana Serko of Creative Soaps by Steso. Tatiana provided us with a wonderful tutorial for the regular category by creating a gorgeous 7 color shimmy soap. For the advanced category instruction, our host, Amy Warden, created a beautiful ombre shimmy and provided us with so many helpful details, as always. If you’re interested in this or past techniques, be sure to check out the Soap Challenge Club tutorials page.
This is my tall and shimmy entry for the advanced category. I created a video of my process but won’t have that posted for a few days or so. Continue reading
Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing well and hanging in there! ❤️
I just posted a video on a new version of my pink grapefruit scented salt bars. My original video on this soap was posted about 5 years ago. Can’t believe it was that long ago! This time I used an extra fine Himalayan salt instead of fine white sea salt and pink clay throughout the bar instead of just the swirl on top. Thank you so much for watching!
For this month’s Soap Challenge Club, we learned a fun technique called the clamshell swirl. The Challenge Club is hosted by Amy Warden, and our guest instructor was Teri of Tree Marie Soapworks. Teri makes really beautiful soaps and also has a YouTube channel where she uploads amazing videos. She did such a wonderful job teaching us the clamshell technique that I couldn’t seem to stop trying it. I’ll talk about some of those attempts here, and I also made a video about my entry soap (linked at the very bottom of the post), in case you’d like to see that, too. :) Continue reading
I made this coconut milk soap a while back and finally got around to editing the footage. December and January were just not good months for me or my entire family. I’m trying to get back into the swing of things with this video and will hopefully have my next one up soon. I’m also hoping to have my Spring YouTube Collaboration video finished by the deadline of March 1st. Fingers crossed! In the meantime, I hope you find this coconut milk soap video helpful or at least fun to watch. :) Coconut milk was the first alternative to water that I tried as a soapmaker, and it’s still my favorite liquid to use. I just like how the soap feels. :) Continue reading
